想欺骗你的多刃刀具吗?莱瑟曼可以help you do just that, with its new Ratchet Driver.

The Ratchet Driver is designed to do exactly what its name implies: It adds the capability of a ratcheting driver to any Leatherman tool with the company’s proprietary flat bit driver. It seems to be designed as a universal fit farkle, as Leatherman’s marketing actually says “The Ratchet Driver works with any multi-tool or knife that’s equipped with a large bit driver.” If you’ve got another multitool with the same system, it should fit.

The Ratchet Driver will handle 1/4-inch bits at the business end, with magnetic retention keeping the bits in place. There’s a plastic selector on the driver allowing the user to choose forward, reverse or fixed position for the ratcheting action. With the Leatherman’s handle closed, you get basically the same utility as a ratcheting screwdriver. If you want to, you can open the Leatherman’s handle to gain more torque.

However, note that the Ratchet Driver does not carry the same long-term guarantee as other Leatherman tools. Head over to YouTube, and reviewers will show you it’s not intended for applications with heavy torque. That shouldn’t be a surprise to a savvy wrencher, though. For those with realistic expectations, it’s a handy way to upgrade your multitool’s capability.

Leatherman puts a $29.99 MSRP on the Ratchet Driver; shop around, and maybe you’ll find a sale somewhere. The Ratchet Driver will fit inside the same sheath as some Leatherman tools, or you can carry it in your pocket or tool roll, but it does not store away inside the multi-tool’s body.

You can find more details on the Ratchet Driver atLeatherman’s website, but if you’re really interested, it’s worth taking a spin through YouTube. Several reviewers went out and grabbed the new tool when it hit the market, and there are plenty of clips on there showing the plusses and minuses of the Ratchet Driver. Overall, it seems most consider it a handy gadget, and the comment section agrees. See morehere.
