If you were planning on going to a Horizons Unlimited meet-up, and the coronavirus pandemic nuked that plan, no worries: Grant and Susan Johnson and the rest of the HU team have your back.

Starting this April, Horizons Unlimited is streaming its Achievable Dream video series for free. For the next few weeks, HU is allowing free streaming of a chapter of the Achievable Dream series, starting on Friday, and running through until the next Friday. Every week, the video changes.

The Achievable Dream DVDs are full of much the same stuff you’d get at a Horizons Unlimited meeting, but are definitely aimed at people looking at getting into the overland scene, not so much at grizzled adventure travel veterans. For much of the footage, HU simply asked experienced adventure riders their opinion on common questions about things like gear choice, paperwork, transportation plans, insurance necessities and other similar details. One of the DVDs covers overlanding from a female perspective, and one is devoted entirely to tire changing methods. It’s worthwhile watching the videos, if you’re planning a major bike trip, because some of the advice can save you a lot of money, and some of it can save your life.
