Presently 18 states have laws that permit motorcyclists to legally pass through an intersection where a traffic control signal does not recognize the presence of a motorcycle.The argument is that requiring a motorcycle to wait at a “Dead Red” signal is much more dangerous than simply allowing the motorcyclist to ride through with caution.
