Polaris Industries,Inc is recalling certain 2018 – 2019 Slingshot motorcycles.  The issue revolves around the driver and passenger seat belt and seat back anchoring bracket which may have been improperly welded.

In addition,a problem with seat assembly may prevent proper latching of the seat slider.  This could allow the driver's seat to move unexpectedly and cause a crash.

Polaris will notify owners of affected machines.  Owners should take the affected machines to a dealer who will inspect for defects.  If a weld is missing or incomplete,or the slider does not properly latch, the seat bases will be replaced.  All work and materials are to be provided free of charge.  This recall began on March 25,2019.

Owners may contact Polaris customer service at 1-855-863-2284 and cite recall  T-18-01.Note: this recall is an expansion of recall 18V-195.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle (NHTSA) Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 and reference NHTSA campaign,or go towww.safercar.gov.
