Tired of being wet and cold while you’re riding? Mosko Moto continues to expand past its luggage offerings, with the new Rak overpants and pullover jacket, intended to keep wind and rain at bay.

Broadly speaking, offroaders use two different kinds of gear. There’s weather-resistant jackets/pants with the padding built in (say, AlpinestarsAndes Proline), and there’s gear that’s aimed more at protecting from impacts in a crash, without much weather protection (theTekVestis a good example, or maybe mesh gear like theOlympia Dakar line). The Rak overpants and jacket are aimed at providing weather protection when needed, allowing you to ride in free-breathing gear in dry conditions, like a high-tech rainsuit.

The overpants have a set of full-length YKK VISLON AquaGuard zipper running up the outside of each leg, allowing you to put the pants on without taking off your boots–no struggles trying to jam your MX boots through too-tight pant legs, and no hopping around trailside as you remove your footwear to put the overpants on. Mosko Moto also included a single zippered cargo pocket on the right leg, and a set of belt loops. The pants themselves are constructed from three-layer nylon eVent DV Expedition shell fabric, with an extra layer of fabric in the seat and knees, to help them wear longer.

The Rak pullover is essentially the same idea, made of the same material. It’s got two handwarmer pockets and a chest pocket, and instead of a full top-to-bottom entry in front, there’s only a quarter-zip opening for your neck, with synthetic suede neck lining. As for crash resistance, Mosko Moto says this is “100% nylon 70d x 160d dobby face fabric, with 20d nylon tricot backer, 219g/sqm.” It should hold up fine to rough trail use, but a decent spill on-pavement probably won’t do it much good.

The pants are priced at $329 in the US (available in tan), and the jacket costs $349 (available in blue or red). For more information, head over toMosko Moto’s website.
