For the second time in a little over six months, Nault’s Windham Powersports (based in New Hampshire) has been burglarized for dirt bikes and accessories that now add up to more than $85,000. The most recent thefts come on New Years Day, with the thieves netting four dirt bikes and accessories valued at more than $50,000.

Clear video

Clear store video shows six young men wearing hoodies and masks throwing rocks and pieces of pavement at the store’s front windows. It takes them many attempts and kicks to finally break open one of the store’s front windows. But they are ultimately able to gain access and begin the work of stealing four bikes and accessories.

A different camera captures the crooks taking extensive measures to steal the machines from inside the showroom. First to go are two Honda CRF450 RS dirt bikes which they were able to simply walk out of the showroom. But the Kawasaki dirt bikes were a different matter.

Attempted security

The dealer had taken some measures to secure the bikes. Each of the machines was tightly packed side by side in the showroom with a thick cable locking them all together. Unfortunately, the gang came prepared. Using bolt cutters, they were able to cut the cable and free the bikes over a period of about 5 minutes.

Once the bikes were free of the cable, there was little space to maneuver the bikes out of the store. But one of the thieves brazenly pushes over at least two more brand new bikes to make room. It’s not clear whether those bikes were damaged.

Thieves photographed

The dealer posted copies of the video to itsFacebook page,公众对此反应。One person took the time to edit the videos and capture clear pictures of some of the intruders.

Significant impact

With inventory at such low levels, the thefts have severe implications. After the first burglary, Nault’s GM Curt Grenier told the media that the thefts are a serious problem saying, “When you steal that, you’re stealing somebody’s paycheck.” The second burglary only makes that problem worse.

Naults is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thieves. Anyone with tips can contact Detective Sgt. Jessica Flynn at the Windham, New Hampshire Police Department at(603) 434-5577.
