Husqvarna’s Norden 901 seems to be nearing production readiness. That is if therecently emerged spy shots are correct. And, the shots show that more than one version of the bike may be produced.

Not surprisingly, the photos show a bike that looks similar to the machine unveiled at EICMA. While the machine is still in its prototype form, it still has many of the retro, smooth lines of the bike that sat on Husqvarna’s 2019 EICMA product stand.

Two different Norden versions

But perhaps the most interesting thing about the spy shots is that they seem to show that the Norden 901 will come in two different versions. One version that is more road-focused and one with more of an off-road pedigree.

Some of the photos show the bike with a traditional low front fender and less aggressive tires. Others show the machine with a high mounted “enduro” type fender and more aggressive knobbies.

The Norden 901 is based on KTM’s new 890 Adventure. As such, it should lift many of the components found on the KTM machine. However, in keeping with Pierer Mobility boss Stefan Pierer’s brand philosophy, the Husky should be the more comfortable and less aggressive version of the two machines.

When and where?

Regardless of the Norden 901’s final production details, the photos suggest that the bike is advancing along nicely and could be ready for production soon. MCN says that the bike will be unveiled later this year and will arrive in dealer showrooms by early 2022.

If the bikes do make it to dealer showrooms by early 2022, their distribution is still a question. One dealer source told me that the bike would first be available in Europe only, with North America potentially following one or two years later.
