The crew at Cyclops Adventure Sports has grown their business by acquiring Skene Lights; which is now part of Cyclops as of a deal last year.

Cyclops is best-known for its range of LED bulbs, improving the output of anemic motorcycle headlights while also easing the draw on the charging system. Skene offers high-tech, made-in-the-USA accessory lights as an addition to Cyclops’ lineup.

It seems the plan is to focus on the Photon Blaster and P3 light systems, which install on the bikes as forward-facing and rear-facing accessories. Cyclops will sell controllers to sync them to the bike’s turn signals and brakes, or they can just be wired in as standard marker lights without the integration.

As per Cyclops’ PR:

The photon Blaster and P3 light systems work on most motorcycle make/models, including CAN-bus equipped models. The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) states that the greatest problem is the limitation on attention resources and awareness.

Introducing the Photon Blaster and P3 Rear Lighting System

The photon boosters work as standalone safety marker lights OR can be paired with a Skene Light Controller in the Photon Blaster and P3 systems to work in conjunction with the factory turn signals and brake lights.

Photon Blaster System starting at $139

Front mounted visibility lighting system featuring the Skene Patented Conspicuity Flicker and Refracted Lens for a true 180-degree view pattern offering two very bright yellow or white LED light bars that help ensure oncoming traffic sees you. Typically mounted on either side of the front wheel to increase your lighted footprint.

Photon Blaster P3 Rear Lighting System starting at $144

A rear mounted visibility lighting system featuring the Skene Patented Conspicuity Flicker and Refracted Lens for a true 180-degree view pattern with two very bright red LED light bars that help ensure following traffic sees you. Typically, easily mounted on either side of the license plate, with options to expand to case or bag mounted lights. Brake light and emergency flasher modes are programmable. Kits with turn signal options and an available decelerometer system that will automatically apply the brake lights on rapid deceleration as well as apply emergency flashers in the event of a crash or tip over.

Cyclops has a great reputation with inmates, and speaking from personal experience, I’ve not regretted the money I’ve spent there. There are other ways to add accessory lights; along with options from other manufacturers, you can homebrew a system, or even go witha helmet-mounted brake light.

豪ver, given the amount of faffing about that electrical accessories often result in, an easy plug-and-play system might be quite welcome for inmates who are uncomfortable dealing with wiring harnesses. It’s also particularly nice to have an accelerometer-enabled system, which will alert motorists when you slow down even if you don’t touch the brake pedal.
