Between them, KTM and Husqvarna had another year of record sales for parent company Pierer Mobility AG.

280099年总共KTM此次将和Husqvarna的总和motorcycles sold in 2019, an increase of seven per cent over 2018’s sales totals. That makes it nine years in a row of sales growth for the company as a whole. Of the 2019 sales, 234,449 bikes were KTM-branded, and 45,650 were Husqvarna-branded.

Formerly known as KTM Industries, Pierer Mobility changed its name this year and picked up yet another offroad-oriented brand. Now, for 2020, Spanish manufacturer GasGas will join KTM and Husky under the Pierer Mobility AG umbrella. Pierer Mobility itself is majority-owned by Austrian businessman Stefan Pierer, but a huge chunk of the company also belongs to Indian manufacturing Bajaj.

Pierer Mobility published a set of year-end financial numbershere, and for the most part, it seems it performed well against 2018’s stats, and also performed well against its competition in 2019, particularly in tough markets like the US. American sales were down as a whole, but KTM and Husky saw an increase there. Over the whole company, revenues were up four per cent (another record), and cash flow was up as well.

As a whole, the European motorcycle manufacturers seem to mostly be doing quite well these days, partly due to a mix of high-end performance bikes and more sensible, learner-friendly and budget-friendly machines. KTM’s certainly doing well here, with machines in the 125, 200, 250 and 390 in developing markets, where motorcycle sales are really seeing volume.

For 2020, GasGas sales are also going to boost Pierer Mobility’s numbers (for now, they’re selling trials bikes, but street-legal models are coming). There’s also a plan to push new e-bike models forward as well, particularly under the Husqvarna brand.
