Forcite helmets have announced that they are ready to take reservations for their their latest offering, the MK1S smart helmet. As a new player in the helmet market, Forcite hopes to provide an enhanced riding experience, increasing safety and enjoyment by using audio and visual enhancements, as well as advanced design and construction. We wrote about Forcite in2019and2020, and it appears their updated helmet is finally ready to hit the market.

The MK1S comes after Forcite’s original release of 1000 MK1 “Founders Edition” and 300 MK1 “Pioneer Edition” helmets to Australian riders willing to contribute to the development process. Utilizing their input, along with feedback from the riding community at large, improvements and updates were made to the MK1S for better comfort and useability.

Much of what the MK1S offers over conventional motorcycle helmets is housed right inside the front of the chin bar. An array of coloured LEDs along the bottom of the visor can communicate to the rider navigation prompts, warn of upcoming traffic or speed traps, or even road hazards. Below that, an integrated action camera can record 1080p at 60fps.

Sound is provided by 40mm Harman Kardon speakers housed in redesigned ear cavities. Also redesigned is the visor mechanism and quick release pull-tab. The MK1S also features an improved “Premium” liner for increased comfort.

As for construction, the shell is made of carbon fibre and carries ECE 22.05 certification, and the chin bar is designed with a unique anti-shock feature for claimed superior energy dispersion upon impact.

Another unique feature of the MK1S is the handlebar remote, which allows the rider to control navigation, music, and the action cam. The remote, along with the Forcite smartphone app, completes the Forcite “ecosystem”.
