Can you trust a made-in-China motorcycle to be reliable? You’ll get a wide variety of answers, depending who you ask, but Sinnis (a UK-based motorcycle brand) says the answer is “Yes.” The company is so solidly behind its Chinese-built bikes that it now plans to offer a seven-year warranty on its lineup, including itsadventure bikes.

The warranty includes parts for the full term, and labor and towing costs for part of the term.

Sinnis focuses on small-capacity bikes, particularly in the learner-legal 125 market. The terms of its warranty are laid out on its website for the 50cc category, the 125cc category and the larger-than-125 category, but these are the basics:

Sinnis Motorcycles, the UK’s leading small capacity motorcycle manufacturer, is proud to announce the launch of the UK’s first ever 7-year, unlimited mileage motorcycle warranty. This exciting new development represents a major milestone in the company’s commitment to providing riders with high-quality, reliable, and affordable motorcycles that are built for the adventure.

The Sinnis 7-year warranty has three main sections:

1. Warranty Parts; Available for the full 7-year term.

2. Warranty Labour; Available for the first year of registration only.

3. Breakdown Cover; Available for the first year of registration only.

Sinnis Motorcycles invites all riders to join them in their passion for adventure, exploration, and freedom on two wheels. This new warranty is not just a statement – it’s an invitation to be part of the motorcycling community, to explore the open road with confidence, and to join the story of motorcycling in the UK.

Making motorcycling affordable

This new program is very much in the spirit of Sinnis’ make-motorcycling-affordable credo. As the company’s website says: “这是我们状团队的目标使我们rld of two wheels accessible to all people. That’s why we design awesome, affordable small-capacity machines for the riding styles we love.

To do that, Sinnis has put its badge on Chinese-built bikes, same as the larger Euro companies and have done, and as Harley-Davidson is planning to do in the near future. The Japanese OEMs also have strengthened their ties to China in recent years, with various joint efforts. However, none of those companies have ever offered a seven-year warranty. Even the most optimistic of warranties from Japanese and European manufacturers have generally ended around the five-year mark, unless you’re willing to pay extra.

But on the flip side, replacement parts for a Chinese bike are likely less expensive than the labor, and note that Sinnis doesn’t cover those costs for very long. The real test of these bikes and the warranty program will come over the long haul.

Still. It’s an interesting development, and shows considerable confidence in the product. No doubt some buyers will be swayed by the move, although many will still reject Chinese-built bikes on political principle.
