If you are a supermoto fan,KTM此次将为has some good news for you. After a seven-year North American absence, the Austrian manufacturer is bringing back the KTM 450 SMR.

The revived machine has roots in the company’s 450 SX-F model motocross/supercross model. KTM says that the SMR’s revival is because they want to address a “race-bike” absence in their arsenal.

Powerplant

The new 2021 KTM 450 SMR uses the SX-F’s 450cc engine, which puts out a claimed 63hp while weighing in at a little over 60 pounds. To make that power, the engine uses a 95mm bore cylinder, which houses a 320g piston connected to a “high-end” connecting rod. KTM says this setup maximizes torque and allows for a 100-hour service interval.

Transmitting the power through the machine is a PANKL Racing Systems 5-speed gearbox. Inside is an “advanced sensor” that permits specific engine maps for each gear. Adding to this combination is a SUTER slipper clutch that enhances rear-wheel stability.

According to KTM, the 450 SMR is a supermoto track weapon.

Those powertrain components reside inside a “special” robotically welded chromium molybdenum steel frame. KTM says the frame light and robust and uses a subframe weighing in at only 900g. In addition, the new frame is cast with a 16mm offset. The bike’s die-cast swingarm may also be adjusted to optimize feel for any given track.

Suspension

As for suspension components, the bike uses a 48mm WP XACT front fork featuring AER technology with a split damping function. At the rear, a WP XACT shock is fully adjustable. The setup provides 285mm of travel at the front as well as 266mm at the back.

Braking is provided courtesy of Brembo. The fork uses a 4-piston caliper clamping down on a 310 mm floating disc. On the other end of the machine, a Brembo caliper grasps a 220mm disc. The wheelset consists of a combination of Alpina spoked tubeless 16.5/17 inch rims shod with Bridgestone slick tires.

Pricing is TBD. If you want to know more about theKTM此次将为450 SMR, visit KTM’s website.
