We’ve had a note come through our email inbox that says that meal plans 2023 Giant Loop Ride are almost sold out, so you’d better sign up quick-ish, if you want that option on this year’s event! (NOTE THAT THERE IS STILL ROOM FOR MORE RIDERS, THOUGH).

This year, the Giant Loop Ride runs June 1-4 in Crystal Crane Hot Springs in Crane, Oregon. This event started off small, with less than 50 riders at the first Giant Loop Ride, but now 600 riders attend the Ride. This year’s event has been extended an extra day to fit everything in, because along with the actual GPS-track ride, the organizers have demo rides planned with Harley-Davidson, Royal Enfield and CAKE (with other companies possibly added in coming weeks). Along with Giant Loop itself, USWE, Alpinestar, MotoZ Tyres, Barkbuster, SeatConcepts and many other brands will have their products for sale and on display at the event.

Skool of Moto will offer free off-road training over the weekend, for riders who want to improve their basic bike control skills.

Riders can pay extra to have “Chuckwagon Meals” added on—three breakfasts and three suppers, which might be just the thing if you’ve been out on the trails all day and don’t feel like firing up the campstove when you get back to base.

After the day’s riding is over, there’s other stuff on the schedule as well, including what appears to be moto movie nights, although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Some important info from the organizers:

• All riders are expected to be self-sufficient and equipped with all tools and supplies needed to be safe and comfortable.
• This is not a paid guided trip. Riders are free to choose any route they wish to ride, and riders are responsible for all required permits, licenses, etc.
• Route suggestions and GPS tracks are provided free of charge for your convenience.
• This is some of the most rugged and remote country in the lower 48 states. We recommend using a SPOT, inReach or similar device for self-rescue. Cell phone coverage is unreliable in rural Oregon. There are no support vehicles, and many available routes are far from medical and mechanical help. Consider signing up for and emergency service provider, such as Air Link or Life Flight.
• Unpaid volunteers will be available to facilitate forming groups of riders with similar skills, bike types and interests, but riders are responsible for themselves, are free to choose any route they wish to ride and are free to ride with any other riders – or by themselves as individuals.
