In July of this year,Royal Enfield rolled out its Build. Train. Race. (BTR) program.BTR highlights women and helps them participate in racing. The program provides women with the opportunity to turn a Royal Enfield INT 650 motorcycle into a flat track racing machine. Thereafter, the women train with flat track racers to learn the skills necessary to compete.

BTR goes road racing

Now, the Indian brand is taking its BTR program into phase two. It is announcing its new BTR program centering on road racing. The program seeks out female motorcyclists to customize, train with, and road race Royal Enfield Continental GT motorcycles in 2021.

BTR selection process

Royal Enfield will select the participants for the program through an online video selection process. Women who would like to participate must submit a video and respond to an online questionnaire. The questionnaire can be found at aBTR specific web link.

Royal Enfield’s Breeann Poland Global Brand Manager – Continental GT platform, is enthusiastic about the new program.

Building upon the success of the flat track BTR program, we decided to carry the momentum into the road racing segment. This is a unique opportunity for women interested in road racing and to make a name for themselves on a national level. The participants will have the opportunity to learn from world class racer, Melissa Paris, which is not a chance many people get. The ladies will also be some of the first people to road race the Continental GT 650 platform, so the motorcycling world will be watching.”

Melissa Paris mentorship

Paris will mentor the selected participants during each phase of the BTR program. She will provide assistance with the development of the Continental GT 650 road race machine. That assistance includes design and parts selection, insights into sponsorship, and training on and off the track.

Participant selection

Ultimately, Poland, Paris, and journalist Anne Roberts will select four women for the program. They will review each participant’s videos and their answers to questions about their motorcycle passion, background, and experience.

The entry period for the road racing phase of the BTR program is from now through December 1, 2020.
