Want to watch the Africa Eco Race? It’s headed to the small screen of Amazon Prime soon—although it may not be available in your area, not at this point. And, it’s not exactly a good overview of the race—it’s a documentary of the Yamaha team efforts.

This 59-minute doc is titled The Great Adventure: A Journey Inside Africa Eco Race 2022.Amazon’s descriptionreads:

Botturi and Tarres embark on an extraordinary African adventure, facing the legendary Africa Eco Race. Their efforts, dreams, and the transformative power of this tough race are beautifully captured. It’s not just about the goal; the roads, paths, and challenges along the way shape them into stronger, self-aware men.

Of course, they are referring to Alessandro Botturi and Pol Tarres, Yamaha’s factory rally raid racers aboard modified Tenere 700 adventure bikes! This documentary follows the T7 rally raid team through the 2022 race. Hopefully, this does come to North America’s screens (it’s confirmed for the UK); the Africa Eco Race could use the coverage. It’s still running a cross-continental route to Dakar, Senegal, even as the carefully name-branded Dakar Rally restricts itself to a circle inside a single country (Saudi Arabia). Unfortunately, the 2023 edition had to be postponed until the very end of the year; it’s currently scheduled fora December 30 start.
