A few weeks back, we told you that well-known rally racer Juan Pedrero Garcia was about to challenge the 1000 Dunas Rally Raid aboard a stock Harley-Davidson Pan America. Now, the race is over, and the results are in—and Pedrero has completed the race on that bike!

Here’s what Harley-Davidson posted to its Facebook page this on November 1:

Last weekend Joan Pedrero achieved another milestone on the Pan America 1250, by finishing the Elite category of the demanding 1.000 Dunas Raid!

From October 22 to 29, Pedrero pushed the bike to its limits in a competition where riding skills, navigation and ultimate reliability went hand in hand. Starting the trip in Granada and crossing the Merzouga desert, the full stock Pan America 1250 was able to go from the freezing Atlas Mountains to the intense heat of Erg Chebbi enduring seven extremely challenging stages.

The Pan America is built to endure, designed to explore and engineered for adventure, and Joan Pedrero has managed to push it one step further.

You can see Pedrero pushing his bike through the desert in the video clip below… uhhh, not literally pushing, but it is very obvious that the big-bore ADV does not crest the dunes in as sprightly a fashion as its small-cc counterparts.

But hey, who cares? If the Pan America can pull this off in stock condition, that’s impressive. The Elite Class is a tough slog, too; in the Dunas 1000, Elite riders ride from Granada, Spain to Merzouga, Morocco, traveling over 1,500 miles, with lots of tough off-road along the way. Props to Pedrero for pulling it off!
