Hello, and welcome to ADVrider’s Photos of the Week. We begin today with a shot from@Peter640, who had ridden through Lofoten in Norway on his way south to stay with a friend, Øystein, “who I met in Morrocco!” Peter640 was riding his 2014 BMW R1200GS named “Bison” a week ago when he shot this and the photos that follow. “Fabulous few days chasing him around on his hooligan KTM500!”

Staying next to the lake in paradise and soaking up Norwegian hospitality and scenery. The rain stayed away and much merriment was made!

Closing down

Here is a shot of @Flyfish’s 2022 Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro taken a few days ago at a museum in Anamoss, Iowa. Flyfish says it’s “one of the last days at the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, Iowa. The end of an incredible collection and experience for enthusiasts.”

Nail on the head

“This photo was taken at the BMW MOA rally at Wisconsin Dells over the weekend. Hammerschlägen is a competition played in the evening driving a nail into wood with the sharp edge of a rock hammer. It ain’t easy, especially as the beer begins to flow.” Those are the words of@BorderJeff, who took the picture a few days ago.

Out of Africa

The following nine images were submitted by an inmate named Bear (not The Bear, who is a frequent supplier of pictures for POTW). “Botswana trip 2013, Southern Africa.” He was riding a BMW F800 GS.

Oops!

Thunder and lightning

Here,@BlackdogADVtells us there was a “tremendous thunderstorm on the road from Inuvik to Tuktoyaktuk, Northwest Territories, Canada. He was riding that 2017 Husqvarna 701 a couple of weeks ago when he caught that lightning strike with a GoPro 8.

Beautiful Arkansas

Here are two shots from@NaturalStateADV, who spent the long Labor Day weekend loosely following the TAT across Arkansas on a 2019 KTM 790 Adventure R.

Saw lots of beautiful country and met some wonderful folks along the way. From the Ozark National Forest to the bottom lands of the Delta region, the Natural State offers something for everyone who likes to see the world on two wheels. Happy riding from our little corner of the world!

Cross countries riding

Here are four pictures from@veeblefetzer, who says he rode that 2017 Honda Africa Twin DCT “from the Pacific to the Atlantic through seven American states and five Canadian provinces (and two wildfire smoke plumes) between August 23rd and September 4th, 2023.”

两山的照片拍摄在同一年代pot near Field, British Columbia. One looks east with the afternoon sun shining on the mountains, the other looks west into the edge of the smoke plume I had just ridden out from under. My day was getting brighter!

The picture with the large, slightly comedic bull sculpture is from Russell, Manitoba, on the Saskatchewan border. I stopped to pick up a Manitoba road map from the tourist information centre and there was this big bull sculpture.

And below, a Kawasaki LTD 440 “that has been pressed into ‘postal service’ holding up a mailbox in Hinsdale, New Hampshire, USA.”

In Colorado

The shot below is from a day trip in “gorgeous southwestern Colorado,” says@YodaJediMaster, who was on a day trip to Taylor Reservoir at 9,400 feet elevation a few days ago on a 2021 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom XT. “Deep blue water surrounded by mountain peaks, and great roads!

在科罗拉多州西南部,另一个短day trip on Hwy 92, from Curecanti reservoir to Crawford, Colorado. Butler maps showed it as 25 miles of G-1 “best of the best” road, and it didn’t disappoint. Huge drop offs, twisty, winding road and spectacular blue skies!

Heading home to western New Mexico, Hwy 491 southbound is about as straight as any in Kansas. The long extinct volcanic cones in the distance give some relief to the otherwise flat terrain. Thankful for cruise control here!

And that’s it for now, because we’ve run out of pictures. Remember, we want to see where you’ve been and what you’ve been riding. Just click the link below to submit pictures! Ride safely, ride well, and have fun!
