At the AIMExpo show earlier this month, I met with Dainese’s US Business Development Manager Louis Ortega. During our chat, he updated us on some of Dainese’s new products for 2023. The new gear includes five new jackets, four different pairs of pants, and a new riding boot. That’s a lot of equipment. Louis tells us that Dainese defines itself as a technology company that happens to make protective clothing. And considering the wide range of products Dianese makes, it would seem that they can back up that statement. This year they are rolling out new proprietary technologies like Absøluteshell, Uno Touch, and Magic Connection.

戴nese says its new Touring collection is designed to “…adapt to the motorcycle rider and allow complete control of every feature when riding – from ventilation to pockets and fit – with just one hand.” So let’s take a look at Dainese’s 2023 Touring collection.

Hekla ABSØLUTESHELL PRO 20K JACKET & PANTS

The Hekla ABSØLUTESHELL PRO 20K jacket is “…an adventure touring jacket made with a 20,000 mm waterproof and breathable laminated membrane. The thermal and windproof layer in Polartec Power Air®, which can be removed and worn separately, and the ample air vents on the sleeves, chest, and back mean that HEKLA ABSØLUTESHELL™ PRO 20K is great for use all year round.” In addition, the jacket sports waterproof pockets. You will also find Pro Armor Level 2 shoulder and elbow protectors and there pockets that can accommodate back and chest protectors.

The pants use an “innovative” integrated Magic Connection system. It uses magnets inside the jacket and compatible Dainese gloves to allow the rider to take off their gloves and secure them to the jacket pocket. The Hekla ABSØLUTESHELL PRO 20K jacket has an MSRP of $959.95, with the pants coming in at $499.95.

SPRINGBOK 3L ABSØLUTESHELL JACKET & PANTS

戴nese’s SPRINGBOK 3L ABSØLUTESHELL jacket and pants feature three layers: an outer jacket, a removable AbsøluteShell^T防水内衬,热垫层。戴nese says its construction lends to “extreme functionality and versatility.” It has large ventilation panels that can be opened with one hand, which helps the rider adapt to changing weather conditions. Accompanying the jacket is a similarly constructed pair of pants which also have 3 layers. The SPRINGBOK 3L ABSØLUTESHELL jacket and pants have a retail price of $869.95 and $499.95, respectively.

LADAKH 3L D-DRY JACKET & PANTS

戴nese says the LADAKH 3L D-DRY jacket & pant “…is a waterproof adventure touring jacket with a modular three-layer construction designed for long road and off-road travel.” Its waterproof lining and separate thermal layer help to protect the rider against colder temperatures and changing weather conditions. In its summer configuration, there are large ventilation openings on the arms and torso. In the case of this gear, there is specific sizing for both men and women. The LADAKH 3L D-DRY Jacket & pants each retail for $519.95.

SPLUGEN 3L D-DRY JACKET

The SPLUGEN 3L D-DRY jacket is a four season jacket with 3 layers and uses Splungen 3L D-Dry® technology. According to Dainese, the jacket’s adjustable ventilation openings make it suitable for the hottest days while its removable waterproof lining in D-Dry® fabric and associated thermal layer protect a rider in cold temperatures. It also features the one-handed Uno Touch Air Vent system, which permits opening and closing of the jacket’s vents with one hand. In addition, like the Hekla ABSØLUTESHELL PRO 20K, the Splungen 3L D-Dry jacket has Dainese’s Magic Connection technology. The Splungen 3L D-Dry jacket and pants each carry a price of $629.95.

戴nese’s newest adventure touring boots are its SEEKER GORE-TEX® adventure touring boots. The boots use leather and a Gore-Tex performance membrane to provide a waterproof fit for all weather conditions. In addition, the boot’s shin guard with Dainese’s Pro-Armor offers increased safety and freedom of movement. A unique fastening system using steel cables and a magnesium double lever helps to secure the boot to your foot and reduce weight. The SEEKER GORE-TEX adventure touring boots retail for $439.95.
