As previously reported by our friends at Motorcycle.com, Harley-Davidson has been developing a small displacement motorcycle for the Asian market. While early speculation was that this bike would come out of India, China’s Qianjiang Motors turned out to be H-D’s new dance partner. Qianjiang’s ownership of Benelli meant that a parallel-twin engine architecture was the leading candidate for Harley’s proposed new model, similar to the Benelli TNT300. After no mention was made of this new Asian market bike atHarley-Davidson’s 120th anniversary celebration and reveal of new modelslast week, the sleuths at Motorcycle.com did their thing andfound more detailson what is now known as the X350 and X350RA.

By piecing together data submitted to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration by Qianjiang, VIN information submitted by Harley-Davidson, images taken from the Harley-Davidson’s Service Information Portal that appeared only briefly, and details from the X350RA’s official owner’s manual secretly delivered in a plain brown wrapper, Motorycle.com has given us a pretty clear picture of these upcoming models. They even got a brief look at the official parts catalogue, giving insight into the differences between the X350 and X350RA.

Notably, the “RA” model features prominent, bright orange painted radiator guards, giving credence to the suspicion that the RA version is intended for the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy. Specifications gleaned from the owner’s manual suggest that the engine is, in fact, a larger version of the one found in the Benelli 302S.

Head on over to Motorcycle.comfor more details, images, and data on this as-yet-to-be-released model before Harley spoils the fun and officially releases it.
