Welcome to ADVrider’s Photos of the Week, issue number 34. We start off with a somewhat unusual choice, but we wanted to make a point, which is that you can do adventure on anything with wheels, even if it doesn’t have a sidestand, and especially even if you have to push it across the border. “Rode to the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia [Canada] with a stop at Mt. Washington along the way,” says our contributor,@Dirt_Dad, who was in fact riding the 2020 KTM Super Adventure S that you see on the other side of his wife’s 2022 Spyder RT Limited in our feature photo. “Had a mechanical issue at the Canadian Customs checkpoint, which resulted in the need to push the bike into Canada. Terrific dealer in Dartmouth, NS, got the stator replaced and the trip was saved.” See more photos (taken from the GoPro on his wife’s Spyder) below.

Nova Scotia, just a few weeks ago.

The Cabot Trail is paved, but it’s a great motorcycle road full of delicious curves and brilliant scenery.

BMW across Australia

The three photos below, from@Face scrape 2001, were taken “on a ride from Western Australia to Canberra, Nullarbor flatlands to southern New South Wales” a few months ago.

Note the sign for an emergency roadstrip for the Australian “Royal Flying Doctor Service.”

Dad and sons’ annual ride

Inmate@Jarrod Weaversays he and his sons took their annual fall ride through Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula, and northern mainland Michigan last week.

Although we ended up riding a little over 1,700 miles, this year’s theme was the “Fish Dip 500” as our goal was to make it to Manley’s Smoked Fish in St. Ignace, Michigan, to get a tub of their incredible smoked whitefish dip.

Highlights of the trip included stopping in Elkhart Lake/Road America in Wisconsin, and Copper Harbor, Charlevoix, and Mackinac Island, all in Michigan, he says.

B.C. Interior

Here is a shot of the east side descent of Gray Creek Pass in British Columbia’s West Kootenay region, just before it closes for the winter. That’s a 2012 Triumphg Tiger 800 XC with Touratech Suspension and the photo was taken a few days ago by@Prairie Hairball.

A curve or two

Here, we have some photos by @Peter640, who was “travelling south through the Italian, Swiss, and French Alps” a few days ago on his BMW R1200 “Bison.” “Stunning roads and crazy scenery. Mind lowing stuff! Mixed weather but amazing riding.”

Discovering Idaho

Here are@GreggSlezakand his 2021 Honda CRF300LS a couple of weeks ago on a trip along Idaho’s Backcountry Discovery Route.

He was up for the challenge

@Stg06says ADVrider’s @The Bear wrote an article in November 2022 about the 2023 Postie Bike Challenge, 11 days of Australian Outback, and it was enough to get our contributor moving. “From September 3 to 13, in what seemed like a good idea from 10,000 miles away,” he “joined with lots of others to ride the 3600+ kilometers of this year’s challenge. “ Below, “the sturdy steed (Honda NBC 110 SuperCub Postie Bike—8 hp, 65 kph), immediately after covering the 3664 kilometers of all kinds ofsurfaces.”

“The second pic is a shot of typical bitumen found along the way.”

这一枪,“突出一个小mercies found on the route.

The sign (look closely) in the fourth pic seems entirely incongruous, but relevant in the wet season.

“最后一个图片显示乘客穿越格雷戈尔y River, which although dry season still has flowing water.”

“Overall trip was eleven days of eat, ride, fuel, oil, tent up, sleep, tent down, repeat . . . longest daily distance was about 420 km and the shortest about 220km . . . the longest day was from Hells Gate Roadhouse in Northern Queensland to Borraloola in the Northern Territory, 320km of sand, rock and corrugagagagations to rival the worst anywhere.”

Minnesota sights and turtles

A tour of Maplewood State Park in west central Minnesota on a 2022 Honda CB500X a few days ago resulted in these pictures of a beautiful lake, submitted by@Lapchik, who says the gravel road farmland picture was taken in that area as well.

I almost hit this little turtle guy, so I stopped and helped him the rest of the way across the road.

A sweet ride

Riding a 2017 Suzuki V-Strom 650,ABikeMikeAZtook “a half day off Wednesday and rode to Parker Canyon Lake from Tucson” in Arizona. “About 15 miles to get out of Tucson, then about 65 miles of nice sweepers and a few tight twisties. A really sweet ride, even if a little hot.”

Country roads

Here are some shots from “another beautiful ride in West Virginia,” contributed by Tim, who was riding a 2002 Kawasaki KLR650 a few days ago when he shot them.

Tim doesn’t go into detail, but when he uses the word “beautiful,” he speaks with authority.

And that will be all for now, Inmates and esteemed visitors. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos, and to all of you for coming by for a look. Come back next week and we’ll have more photos from our adventurers, and remember, if you’ve been out riding, send us your pictures! It’s as easy as clicking the link below.
