Ural’s just sent out its latest newsletter, with February updates, and it includes this fun short film as seen above.

What do we know about the clip? Not much. As the newsletter says: “Our team in Portugal set out for a three day off-road race and the whole experience was brilliantly captured in O Nosso Dakar Rally video by our friends at XREPO Media and Motul.” The YouTube description only tells us:

We took over O Nosso Dakar on an epic three-day off-road course. Two Urals, two teams and a couple of go-pros. This film is about taking on a challenge, turning limitations into advantages, riding in unison and all the while moving in agreement with one’s internal beat.

Dirt endured by Rob and Zayne of Gusto Motorbikes, Bartek Kosiorek, XREPO and Anton Malyshev, Motul.

But whatever the backstory is, it looks like a pretty fun event for ADV bikes in the backcountry of Portugal. It’s worth noting that Vanessa Ruck and her husband did this event in 2022 on a Ural, with Vanessa (akaThe Girl On A Bike) wrestling the handlebars through the corners, while her husband hung off the sidecar at all angles in the role of the monkey (as the sidecar passenger is traditionally known).

Want your own Ural?

If this looks like fun, and you want to try for yourself, Ural says:

If you plan to buy this season, please check current dealer inventoryby dealerorby bike. There areeight standard colorsfor 2023 Gear Up models and we alsooffer over 80 custom paint options. Catalog of all the paint options with photos is coming, for now it’s a list with the paint code names. If you are curious about any particular paint scheme, just email yourlocal dealeror our Chief of sales atsidecarsmakeyouhappy@ural.com.

There will be a few weeks gap before the next shipments arrive in late March, don’t wait too long as inventory at dealers is still rather limited. Turnaround time for custom orders this spring will average 90-120 days before arrival in port of NY (for US customers).

For our Canadian customers, we are working to resume deliveries this spring, please stand by.

Sorry hosers, sounds like y’all will be waiting for a few months yet. But it’s good to see that IMZ-Ural has managed to keep the doors open through some very serious difficulties, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the newmade-in-Kazakhstan rigscompare to the old Russian-built classics.
