Texas-based Volcon is back with two new machines for 2023: the new Grunt EVO and Grunt LT.

Volcon Grunt EVO

If you’re familiar with Volcon’s electric dirt bikes, you’ll recognize the pattern here, as the EVO is similar to Volcon’s original designs, with the Exo-Arch frame and fat tires. However, this is an update based on customer feedback; it’s supposed to be more comfortable, thanks to relocated footpegs and new seat. There’s a Gates Carbon Drive final drive belt that’s supposed to require less maintenance while improving efficiency, and also reducing noise. The rear suspension is also overhauled with a shock from Walker Evans Racing that has been tuned to this machine’s dimensions.

The bodywork gets an overhaul, slimmed down from the original, and the bike sees its weight reduced by 20 percent.

The electric powertrain is the same setup that the company used on the original Grunt. And like the original Grunt, this EVO model seems to be kind of a modern, electric take on the farm bike formula (those tires are very Tee-Dub like, and the TW200 is the only agricultural bike still sold in the US…). In keeping with the ag bike theme, the EVO has a trailer hitch accessory available, which allows it to tow up to 750 lb. There’s also a rear rack and other storage options.

Volcon Grunt LT

If the EVO is an ag bike, the Grunt LT is a pit bike. Sort of.

This machine comes with a 27-inch seat height, and uses an in-wheel hub motor. It’s supposed to reach a max speed of 35 mph, and the battery has 25-mile range. Like so many pit bikes, it comes with trick-looking suspension (inverted forks, adjustable rear shock). LED headlight is standard. It also comes with three power modes, which limit top speed to 15 mph, 25 mph or 35 mph—the sort of control that many parents are looking for. The Runt weighs 147 pounds, so it should be pretty manageable for smaller riders.

“Giving everyone in the family an option for low maintenance, easy-to-ride, fun is the catalyst for empowering adventure, especially with financing options through our incredible dealership network,” said Volcon bigwig Melissa Coffey at the bikes’ release.

Wondering about pricing? You’re look at $5,999 starting MSRP for theGrunt EVO(more details and specshere), $3,495 for the LT (more detailshere).

Both the Runt LT and the EVO are available in Bandit Black, Del Rio Red, or Desert Dune. And as per their PR, “Volcon is scheduled to ship the EVO and Runt LT to dealers in Q2 of this year. Customers can start creating builds of both motorcycles on Volcon.com starting March 30, 2023. Once ready, customers can pick up their motorcycle from their local powersports dealer.
