everyone that comes up to talk to me on trips or when i throw them on there just for the heck of it never know what the heck they are....i always start off by saying there my boosters for those's steep hills they work great almost half a gallon of reserve.
My old bike (F650GS - single) had these fancy "peg packer" things I could mount on the passenger pegs - one on each side. Now, I've simplified and gone a little more basic - Kolpin mounted on a cutting board.
Pick up some 4 or 5 quart oil jugs at a truck stop. Use them and the discard (properly) when done. They are heavy and designed to hold petroleum.
