I'm going. Don't think there's any discounts, but the "Meal Package" seems like a good deal. I went last year and had a great time. If your serious about competing you should expect a lot of time on the bike and lotsa road miles to bag all of the rally points. We rode as far away as the Salton Sea and the Mexican Border at Tecate. Got to see a bunch of places I'd never been to.

You might want to check the rally website on the FAQ page where there's a link to a spreadsheet of solo riders looking for teams. All different types of bikes and rider skills listed - some want a faster pace, others not so much.

The "Snake Dude"

Grapevine Canyon was a bit of a mess. Still paying for it with a leg in a cast. Still going back next year though.

BTW, for anyone that didn't go and don't know the format. You were given a map with numbered locations on it. A book had a page for each of those numbers locations with photos and descriptions. You then put together a route that would allow you to visit as many of those locations within the allotted time. Some locations were easy and on pavement while others were some tough single-track with some in-between. The tougher the location, the more points you got for visiting it. Each day scores were totaled and daily leaders (top 10) were announced each night. Overall wasn't announced until the last night.

The rally and camping was out of Stagecoach Springs Resort east of Julian. The riding took you as far east as Slab City east of Salton Sea, west into Cleveland National Forest and south to the border of Mexico.

Does anyone remember how hard the checked your license for the motorcycle endorsement? They ask for your drivers license number, just curious as to why. My teammate is using my second bike and has an endorsement for his previous states license, hasn’t transferred it. I mention that because he knows how to ride but, well here we are.

Regarding moto license endorsement, I've been to the rally twice and was not asked to show my license nor did they even look at the bike. YMMV

Wish I'd see this a little earlier, I just booked a (tent) site in the group camp area. They told me that most sites are booked, but they have some RV sites left, as well as the one I booked in the group camp area (cannot be booked online, you have to call).

Yup, $40 a night seemed a bit steep. I think you can have up to 4 people per site so I am taking that to mean 4 tents and 4 bikes (might have to put bikes in an overflow area?). I would expect them to be fairly accommodating for this event.
Re: the Solo sheet, I guess you requested and got edit access? I can only insert a "comment" in each cell, which does not show up ( pending approval?).

Re the spreadsheet, I did not have to request any access, but I did notice that they have an incorrect link to an outdate spreadsheet on the page that confirms the registration.. that link goes to a page with no tab for 2021. Glad the link worked... Im good with splitting my site if it can accommodate us all.. its site number263in the group camp area which is the area that the organizer of the rally recommended I ask for and the guy at the park said it had a little shade so it sounded like a good choice.
