May 6, 2023, is the date for the 13th annual Quail Motorcycle Gathering. Once again, the event will occur on the award-winning golf course grass of the Quail Lodge and Golf Club in Carmel, California.
The Quail Motorcycle Gathering celebrates the evolution of two-wheeled vehicles with more than 300 vintage and modern motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles on display in beautiful surroundings. Also in attendance at the Quail will be manufacturers showing off their newest and most popular bikes. Unfortunately, The Quail has not yet released the names of those manufacturers. In keeping with the prestigious setting, The Quail will also feature “…lifestyle and retail exhibitors, gourmet lunch options, local wines and brews, and a family-friendly kid’s area.”
This year’s featured classes are Italian and single-cylinder motorcycles, 1970s Vintage Muscle, Bring on the Baggers, and 11 other traditional classes, including:

- Competition On-road
- Competition Off-road
- Antique
- Custom/Modified
- Choppers
- Extraordinary Bicycles and Scooters
Bubba Shobert honored
Each year, the Quail honors a two-wheel celebrity. This year, Bubba Shobert will be the Legend of the Sport and participate in a fireside chat. Shobert built a successful motorcycle racing career in a variety of disciplines.

He is a three-time AMA Grand National Flat Track champion (1985-1987), 1988 AMA Superbike champion, AMA Hall of Famer and 2007 Motorsports Hall of Fame member. Considered by many to be one of the fiercest and most-consistent flat track racers of all time, Shobert is one of the very few racers to have won in all forms of the Grand National Championship series: mile, half-mile, TT steeplechase, short track and road racing.
