What the above means is the charger is too high in current for the size of the battery regardless of whether it is Lead Acid or LiFePO4, charge the Shorai on the 12 amp setting & you will have a definite dead parrot as did WizAU, the manual info also does not indicate what the low voltage behaviour of the charger

Ah no, not at all. Sure you can come back. Why would I suggest anything like that. Just that some people went and never found their way here. Nonetheless, it was just my sigh spoken outloud, don't take it too personally. This thread and its occupants, after four yeras spent here,...nevermind.

Exactly you, ehm you know what, lucky me I remember your old avatar. You didn't made me regret what I said at all.

Bulls eye. I am, a MODEL.

Wiz, what mileage do you have on that NAG1? Did you do a refurbish it already or just waiting, or never heard of it?

Thanks Wayne. Looked through wiring diagrams and didn't find anything with four wires with these colors. I am either blind, or it's not there.

Well done sir.Optional computer accessory -computer like bsmc, a dash or what? Accesory like alarm? If I ever attempt a wiring loom inspection/rewiring/ripping it off it won't matter, would it. Looks like I have wrong wiring diagram :)

There is/was some dash add-on computer available, called "on board computer", you will find it in the fiche in accessories

As for cutting off sockets etc, that is for butchers, smart people ID the connectors & buy them in from the car division to connect devices as one to the Sertao owners did with this socket you are referring to, there will be part numbers on the socket, normally both socket Mfr & 7 digit BMW No

Yeah, saw that, didn't know the use of it. Thanks for letting me know.

Ehm, I don't want any new connectors, I want to get rid of things not necessary. So instead of buying you meant selling. But why would anybody buy this thing that have no use. No idea.

No I meant buying, you can buy the mating plug for the socket from the BMW car division so the socket can be used to connect what ever you want

Turns out I had no brake light. I had picked up a new bulb at the dealer when getting an oil filter but that was not the issue. Turns out the wire was broken just at the crimp on connector to the tail light assembly. New connector good to go.

Many convert to LED taillight as the BMW designs leaves a little to be desired. Many lights can be used and there are direct replacements on the market if you want to keep it looking stock.
Problem is that the tail rattles and vibrates so the bulbs blow. The stiffening piece Touratech sell (sold?) prevents the rear fender and plate to flex and catch the tire, but the light still vibrates.

Hi, I just re-assembled my calipers (2005 GS) with new seals and pistons. Unfortunely I didn't think to check if the seal orientation is important. The old seals look flat rather than tapered and the haynes manual made no mention of it.
Also I could not push the pistons down 100% flush with the caliper edge. About 3-4mm is protruding but that seems fine in that the pad has contact with the pad-spring first in that position.

so the tower carbon stuff are basically a mock up, i initially indented to use fiber as a main solution, but now want to change it to aluminum, mainly because it's cleaner and easier to work with. The baggage frame needs modding since it slightly touches the exhaust. Lots of electric stuff still left to do...

Nice job! Your fabricator looks like they did a decent job on the ally tower main plates. Once I have my new garage built, I’ll get my Dakar in there and get round to finishing the nav tower/front end.

Yeah, I've never seen tapered caliper piston seals. Always square on the Brembos, Girlock and PBR I've done.

3-4mm protruding, umm, no. Should only be about 1mm, if not flush? Sounds like a seal came out and is behind the piston.
