OK This is not about pointing fingers at anyone, just to share what happened to me.

My Bike is the 2017 300 raga version. It was bought by me, used 29 hours on it total, as of last night. The original owner I bought it from, actually was able to get the GRO branded oil, and he put it in the bike, I assume since new.

He solemnly swears that he put the hour meter on the bike within minutes of unboxing the bike. When I got the bike the meter showed 17.7 hours. I noted the clutch...

I'll admit, I stole this thread idea from a Toyota Land Cruiser forum that I belong to. But it's a cool idea.

So what did you do with your Trials Bike today? Maintenance? Compete? Overhaul? Restore? Nothing? Post it here!

I'll start off. I dragged out my old 314 Montesa to get it ready for Trials Camping Silliness next year, and decided that the destroyed LH bar switch (that controlled the long-gone lighting system) had to go....

I'll need some new tires for my Climber. While I would love to put a new set of Michelins on, I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the cost; ~$275. I can get a set of D803 Dunlops from Rocky Mtn ATV for ~$155.

All my trials and motorcycle knowledge is from the 70's so I have questions before I buy a trials bike this year. I've been investigating and reseaching, but reading needs to be confirmed by real live folks. I'm thinking that the tlr200 is the way to go for me. Thing is, what's the difference between a tlr200 and a Reflex? Are they both available in the states? I don't have any use for lights, battery or anything I don't need for trials riding, my street bike is for that. Because I can't...

Thinking about it, want some free advice from NOT just one man's opinion!?!

1st off, what bike to buy? As anything else in life you buy, get the newest you can afford... Assume you will enjoy the hell out of it, if not, since you buy used most likely on the 1st bike, you probably wont lose much, when you sell it.

Did a quick search on hydration packs and I'm coming up with a few forum favorites, such as Camelbak and USWE.

There is some more information in my TY350 restoration thread, but figured I'd start a new post here for a wider audience.

I may have come up with a solution for the NLA pistons for this bike. I'm still working through the last details, but want to gauge public interest.

My fix uses a Wiseco piston intended for a Honda FL350 Odyssey, which is an 80mm bore, 18mm wrist pin, dual ring, non-piston-port piston. It is available in 0.050mm steps between 80mm and 82mm. The rings are intended for...

I'm new to trials and wanting to buy a new 2022 250 Beta evo or TRS (not sure TRS can be registered in CA) and want to know if anybody has thoughts on the new CA Red Sticker situation. I'm really hesitant to buy a bike that i cannot register. I hear they may extend the red sticker program for another couple of years as they sort it out, but that is only a rumor. Anybody have any thoughts on this subject? Anybody know people in CA buying new bikes?

Just an FYI (**and it may or may not apply, based upon your public library subscriptions**) - Many public libraries have Pressreader.com access, if so, Trial Magazine is in their menu of choices! Frankly, I'm kind of shocked. Shocked enough to share this.

beta evo 300 4t carburetor woes

I have a '14 beta evo 300 4t and i have a couple issues.

The main issue is when the bike is angled at higher than about 30 degrees, the engine will stall, likely due to flooding. This is an issue when sitting at an extreme angle with one foot dabbed, prepping to launch. Also when holding the bike vertical, it will almost immediately stall.

The other issue is a very loud backfire on occasion. Usually it will happen when the engine is fully warmed, the throttle has been held open 50% or more...
