Started quick, but had loud knocking. My torsion spring was broken and hanging when I opened it up. So I installed the EM Doohickey.

Everything went fine, back together it has a really hard time starting. It will start after about 3-5 min of cranking and runs very smooth once it is running.

I assumed timing got off when I applied doohickey as it now had tension.
The timing looks good to me ( I am new to this, just going by the book) attached image.
