    The bridges of Mackinac county

Another spectacular sunny day, temp. in the 70's, no work today might as well go for a little 150 mile spin around the neighborhood.

This is the Cut River bridge, on U.S. 2, near Epoufette A.K.A. the million dollar bridge over a ten cent creek. There is a pull of at both ends of the bridge, I like the east side best. The bridge is 641 feet long and 147 feet above the Cut River, nice stone work, they just re tucked it a couple years ago

168 steps down to the river and lake Michigan, yes I counted them

I'm not sure how this is considered a river, but there it is the mighty Cut RiverDSCN0326.JPG DSCN0328.JPG DSCN0334.JPG DSCN0340.JPGand here it pours itself out into lake Michigan, and maybe in a hundred years this water will make it to the Atlantic

100_0935.jpg 100_0925.jpgHere's that other bridge, a few years ago I was riding thru St. Ignace and I saw a sign AIRPLANE RIDES and it was late summer picture perfect day $75 to ride around in some old smoke belching biplane, I had been in other small planes but this was a different experience, the smell of the engine and the rush of the wind, best view I've ever had of the bridge.100_0948.jpg 100_0938.jpg

The weather was nice Thur. so before the cold front came thought I'd take a ride out west of Brimley towards Raco, then north towards the big lake.
I have to ride 7 miles of pavement then it's all dirt. Big ass beaver lodge, they have about 200 foot of damn in a circle form, with the lodge in the middle, mighty industrious rodents.DSCN0009.JPG DSCN0013.JPG DSCN0049.JPG DSCN0016.JPGThis was the only sign of anyone else out here today, maybe someone's poodle was off his leash.

I love these two tracks, there is thousands of miles of them wandering thru the woods, you can ride them fast,or ride'm slow, today was slow for me seldom over 25 mph I bet. Only. rode about 40 miles but it took me 4 hours, a lot of stopping and walking in the woods.DSCN0029.JPG P1020697.JPGSo this is Mission hill, or Mission point, the lake in the foreground is Spectacle lake, in the background is Superior/ St Marys river and Canada, oh and happy thanksgiving day Canada.P1020694.JPGA man could sure find a worse place to be laid to rest.DSCN0018.JPGI get chill bumps in this place, but in a good way

That two track looks enticing. Looks hard packed enough for my big Boxer. Do they stay pretty firm in that area or turn to sand ?

Boy the end of the nice weather is closing down soon, too soon, but it is and I need to change the oil in the Zrex before I put her inside for the duration of the frozen hell.

Had to heat up the oil ya know so I went down towards Trout Lake then turn north to Strongs, Stopped here at Three Lakes, I've never seen anyone else here, it's a nice little picnic spot.IMG_20161019_151959006.jpg IMG_20161019_145612199_HDR.jpg IMG_20161019_145647150_HDR.jpg IMG_20161019_145814591.jpgI had only my phone with me, so sorry for the dull images

I don't know if I'm going to do a bunch of modifications on her or continue to try and sell her next spring.

I might put some nasty winter pictures on here in the upcoming months.

Well today is the day to pull all the for sale adds and prep all of the machines around here for 7 months of hibernation, I like to drain the tank then fill it with a gallon of non ethel with 1 once of startron, and 1/2 once of Klotz, then take her for a short ride, and drain the float bowls. DSCN0076.JPG Sportsman on zrxoa makes these nice carb drain tools, so its easy to reach in and access all 4 drain screws, last winters layup I put hoses on the drain nipple and run them down in front of the swingarm, so its a no mess deal keeping the carburetors it good shape. DSCN0082.JPG Look I.P. Freely, and where does all this drained gasoline go? Right into ole rusty, the most valuable machine for me from Nov. to May DSCN0085.JPG
