Hello, Inmates and esteemed visitors, and welcome to ADVrider’s Photos of the Week. We begin with a shot of@mikepaat the Kure Shipyards by the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Musem in Hiroshima, taken a few days ago with a Samsung Galaxy 21 Ultra. Our contributor was riding a 2006 BMW R1200GS with an ABEZ Japanese sidecar—which by the look of things is one heck of a great sidecar. But to be honest, it’s not the extra wheels that earned this picture the Featured Photo title. It’s the submarine in the background. Well, let’s face it, most of our pictures don’t even have a boat in them, let alone a Japanese submarine. That’s one unusual pic, Mr. Mikepa. Also, we like the T-shirt. Where’d you get that?

Dry Riding

Here are some shots from@SPKR, who was out with Shelly on his 2023 GasGas ES700 and her 2018 Yamaha XT250 a few days ago, and we think (though he doesn’t say) they were in Arizona. “A fairly technical loop of steep hills, loose rock and coarse sand made worse by the lack on rain locally. We were scouting to routes for a larger group ride on the weekend.” Shelly is a member of the Tucson ADV Riders.

Camping out

Here are two pics by@Ronvdp, who with his brother tackled the Lead King Basin loop in Colorado a few days ago, “with an amazing camping night on the crystal river. Challenging riding on the big bikes but we made it with a few drops.” Ronvdp was riding a 2018 BMW R1200 GSA.

Ghosting

Here is a shot from@The Bear’s2021 BMW F750n GS “on the way out to the silver mining ghost town of Yerranderie in the Blue Mountains, testing some luggage for ADVrider.com.” The Bear shot the image below a couple of weeks ago. Yerranderie is in New South Wales, Australia.

Once again, as usual . . .

. . . his photos are terrific. If only he’d had a submarine in there he’d have nailed Featured Foto status. Oh well,@Peter640’s镜头的骑在他的2014年欧洲宝马R1200 GS, “Bison,” are very tasty indeed, despite the absence of maritime interests.

The ongoing I’ve Always Wanted to go to Albania trip is entering its final month. When these pics were taken I was working my way south and eventually towards Portugal.

住在意大利Alps at an amazing guest house I slipped out on a wet and misty day in the Alps right on the border between France and Italy attempting to get up the Col del Sommeiller. I got most the way but not a day for the final assault! Amazing country!

Forest, mountain, a perfect day

Here are@lazyriderand friends on a KTM, Suzuli, and Honda, in the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon a few days ago.

Ireland’s greenery

Here are shots from recent rides in Ireland’s “beautiful Wicklow mountains,” sent in by@p_morrow72, who was riding a 2020 Yamaha Tenere 700 a couple of weeks ago.

Rain or shine (more likely rain, let’s be honest — there’s a reason Ireland’s as green as it is, after all!), this is a incredible place to ride.

Closer to home

Here’s a pic by@GS Weaverfrom a quick tour of the local neighborhood on a 2014 Suzuki V-Strom 1000.

Ms. GS Weaver and I only had about an hour to sneak in a quick ride before meeting family for lunch in Northern NJ and decided to explore what used to be an old dirt road, now turned into a unmaintained trail. The fine gentlemen we met at the beginning of the trail in the lifted Toyota 4Runner took one look at the V-Strom and advised against proceeding, which I took as a personal challenge. Needless to say, we made it through, though Ms. GS did have to hop off for some of the more “interesting” sections, such as this puddle crossing where she snapped this photo. We even made it back to the house in time for lunch. Adventure doesn’t always have to be hours from home!

It’s a beautiful day

Here is@Captainbadtaking a break while cruising the northwest Washington coast a few days ago on a beautiful sunny fall day. And a 1983 BMW R100 RS.

And that, Inmates and visitors, is that. For now, anyway. We’ll be back next week with more, and we say Thanks a million! to all those who contributed photos for our show this week, and . . . more, please! We need your photos, so wherever you have been with a motorcycle, let us know about it. Submarines not necessary, but photos of you are absolutely necessary. So let us have it, and come back next week! Click the link below to submit.
