Denali D3 fog or Driving lights?

Curious if anyone has installed the Denali D3 fog or driving on R1250GS? Is the hybrid driving lens with selective yellow my answer…want to be seen + see sides of roads & then some + data dim controller…I’m looking into see what is needed etc (harness, cansmart). Lights for rear would be next. Looked into Clearwater previously, but can’t justify the $

I love my D4, B6, and ezcan setup. should put amber lenses on my D4s tho

I have CWs but if I didn't, I'd have Denali hybrid combo fog/driving as you want both for different reasons - be seen (fog) and see better (driving)...

I have the Denali D4s (with amber lenses), B6 brake light (impressive) and compact soundbomb horn on my 2017 R1200 GSA. I installed all of it myself without issue. All have worked flawlessly for three years now.

I’m looking for ways to mount the same on my new S1000XR, and will be researching the new D3s as well.

Though specs and graphs are different then most riders perceived light output, looking over the D3s the specs are impressive.

Based on what you said ... being seen and see the sides of the road I'd look at the Fogs. They have a sharper vertical cutoff than the driving lights and a much wider throw. And you will be seen.

I'll eventually be adding these to my D7 setup, with the D3 fogs mounted on the lower forks or replacing the OEM aux. I generally ride with the D7s off.

I can't speak to the D3's, but I have the D4's with hybrid selective yellow lens', the B6 and the compact sound bomb. Love the setup. Running the D4's at 20% daytime and 100% highbeam. With the hybrid lens' I noticed the other night that they do such a good job illuminating the roadsides that when passing by off ramps on I-90 I can see their yellow color reflecting off of the signs that are far away from me up on the off-ramps. I have them pointed properly, but they give both a nice roadside spread and do a nice job at throwing the beam down the road far enough, especially at 100%.

Install was pretty straightforward as long as you stay organized with all of the fasteners.

In the below pic they were at 10%, I have since moved to 20% and have not yet had someone flash their brights at me.

Seems like I'm a little early to the party with these. Just spoke with Twisted Throttle & maybe a couple weeks out - can order & items will be backordered...just need to make some decisions.

It's anecdotal, but it seems very rare that anyone pulls out in front of me, unlike other motorcycle's I have owned. Getting the D3's with yellow inserts would improve visibility even more. Thanks@TownPump- looks just like the Denali mount, but says modified. Like how it tucks the lights in closer & wonder if it's narrower...thanks again, I'll reach out to a bike thing .

Pro tip ... when you decide - order them even though they are showing out of stock. Hopefully they told you that. Given the supply chain shortages, TT has been advising to order them, then when they come in, you're getting a set. When I was trying to get my D7s this fall thats what I had to do. Rep told me they were getting in D7s in 100-150 at a time but were all 'gone' due to demand so they weren't showing on the site. If you order the Out Of Stock item, be sure that its a seperate order, meaning no other goodies with it, and you won't be billed until it ships (like a hotel reservation). You'll also get email when it ships. They told me 3 week son the D7s and it was just about 2.5 weeks until I saw an email, they were here 2 days later.

IIRC, on A Bike Things install video there was a slight difference in fitting the mount to a GS and a GSA due to the different facias. According to TT, the same mount works for both, but is mounted one way for the GS and the position is reversed for the GSA. Remember, his comes from jolly olde england so shipping might be longer. I'm betting he's 'ever so slightly' bent the vertical braces so that it mounts n the same fashion as the GSA, leaving less sticking out the sides? Interesting for sure.

Also depending on your crash bar situation, you may be able to use Clearwater's bar brackets. I tried this first and wasn't happy with the available locations on the GSA for the huge D7s .. they were never able to be protected by the bars. But on my friends GS with upper bars they would mount nicely and within the bars protection.

You would be looking for the B25: 25mm - 1" bar clamp and the B151: K/E/S crash bar adapter. With shipping these were like $50

You also have Ruby bracket - it is for GSA but it could work for GS. Or you can modify it to suit your application, few $$ cheaper too...

Can anyone comment based on other SAE fog or aux driving lights if either typically reduce he dreaded blackout / cutoff from main headlight while turning into tight corners? Noob with aux lights...

Not many approved lights around that have sharp cutoff, AFAIK. Was wondering same about D3 when leaning into corners (like: Oh f@&k, where's the road gone!).

On a motorcycle or car? Wired aux lights will always stay on unless programmed to turn off when turn indicator is on. The headlight is completely independent.
