Hey everyone. Last week I picked up a 2010 F650GS with 15k miles. It's in really good shape with just some minor maintenance items to take care of. I absolutely love the way it rides already. Day and night from my Honda NC700X which never grew on me. Lot's of accessories came with it including side and top cases. I'll probably look into a skid plate sometime. For now it's maintenance and just having fun!
Congratulations and welcome to the GS family. I hope you enjoy yours at least half as much as I enjoy mine.
I got one of them too, love it.Change your fuel filter every 20,000 miles and fix up the top shock mount, they are the 2 weak points. Apart from that fill the tank, change the oil and ride it.
I have the 2012. Trying to replace it but, can’t find something that does anything (that I need) any better. Enjoy.
I can't say there is anything better after looking around for a while. The options that I found were comparable, but not better. That includes anything new out there.
Nice bike, had one for 30K miles, no issues. If you intend to put big miles on it get a voltmeter to keep an eye on the charging system, some have been known to fry the stator. Also, valve check/adjust is no picnic. If yours was done at the recommended 12K service you're likely good until 30K+.
Valve check is easy peasy. The cover just has to be placed the exact way to go back in. F and G 650 thumper front spoke wheel and F800GS rear wheels bolt right in for spokes. Great bikes. Enjoy!!
What’s the advantage to spokes? Replaced my rear with a borrowed F800 rear to get me home…..looked kind of cool though.
我也只是有2009白银,所以far so good, though the headlight bolt just fell out driving it home. Still haven't had time to figure it all out, though one thing is a little weird and maybe it's just the 19" wheel, but it likes to stay centered and It literally feels like it "snaps" out of straight ahead. Takes more effort to turn the first couple of degrees than the next several so I find myself skipping around trying to keep it smooth and controlled. Inflating the tires more helped as the OO had it VERY low. Still, a bit wonky. Not sure if something's wrong or I just need to get used to it. Is there some kind of center notch tht it has for the steering? It's almost like it clicks and doesn't want to "unclick". I'm also looking at the tires, maybe a wider profile front would help? I''ll use the existing Michelin tires for awhile yet since they still have some life, but any good bargain tires for mostly road but definitely some trail? The biike feels better on the trail than on road where it tends to dance around a lot. Also needs a new fork seal, which seems to have just failed. So maybe that's part of it. But last time I siwtched to a wider profile on a street bike, I got a more stable ride.
