Strongest Loctite?

So what's the strongest, commercially available thread lock fluid? Looking for the sort of stuff that comes with an "Are you sure?" warning. Asking for a friend.

Depending on bolt diameter... Sometimes welding works best.

Crossthreading is free and the strongest.

Red Loctite shouldn't be sold to the general public, it just fucks shit up. Blue or green.

My weapon of choice is 273, when I install cheap thread inserts when I break a thread.

LOCTITE 273 is ared, fluorescent, medium viscosity, high strength, dimethacrylate ester acrylic threadlockerdesigned for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. Typical applications include the locking and sealing of large bolts and studs (M25 and larger).

That really does need warning labels, and labels to not screw round and get the job done fast :). You don't get a second chance when you realize that you should have chased the threads FIRST and made sure everything does go smoothly before using it.

I had some red that releases at 200* - 220*

You can't go by just the color really. There are 2-3 blues, 3-4 reds, 2-3 greens... Knowing the application really does make a difference in which one to use.

True, but the characteristics of the variants within each color are close enough that a DIYer can choose by color. So, the answer to the original question: red loctite is the strongest to the point where the manufacturer considers it PERMANENT. Note: A few years ago Loctite introduced an orange which is much stronger than blue but still permits the fastener to be removed with hand tools. I've used it a few times and can attest that it does seem stronger than blue but also allows fasteners to be removed.

EDIT - CORRECTION: I wrote "Loctite Orange" when I meant "Permatex Orange". AFAIK Loctite does not make an orange threadlocker.

Not true. I'm not going to explain every one, but as an example of how wrong you are: blue 242 will not work well with stainless or aluminum. Blue 243 will.

Actually there is a surface insensitive version of threadlocker for situations where is is not possible or practical to get the parts perfectly clean...

And the truly dumb thing is that all Loctite bottles are red with only a small rectangle indicating the color / strength so it's easy to make a mistake and grab the wrong bottle with disastrous results!
