Harley Guys--What's a Fair Price for a 2003 Dyna or Other Years?

Here's the bike. 9000 miles. Which designation is this bike? It's not in the listing.

Not a harley guy, but if i had to guess it looks to me to be an fxd

Low Rider. Visor over the headlamp and the console for the gages are the key. $4,000 to $6,000. A lot depends on The overall condition of the motorcycle. I can tell you that an old bike with really low miles, could cause some leaks and some other things to crop up as you ride it. Bikes that have been ridden regularly tend to be in better shape, bikes sit regularly, tend to dry up. That's not Harley specific, that's all motor vehicles.

I'd say 5-6K. For me what's nice about that Low Rider is that it is carburated. 9k isn't really low miles and if it's been taken care of properly there shouldn't be any issues from lack of use. In 2015 I bought a '02 Sportster 883R that had less than 2200 mi on it and there's been no issues with it from it's sitting unused before I bought it.

Just heard back from the seller. He's firm at $6075.00.

Why does every older used HD I see have tires that look like the damn thing got rolled through a 6" deep pile of cement dust, then dragged sideways across a barn?

Yeah, I too was curious why the front tire looks like that.

Some guys with 2003 models try to cling to the idea that the 100th anniversary models are worth more.
They are not. They made a zillion of them.

6 k美元top money for it, I’d have to really want that particular bike. The black and black/silver ones are more desirable. IMHO I’d be more comfortable in the 4-4500 range.

ETA Have the cam chain tensioners been addressed?

Haven't spoken with him about the cam chain tensioners--but I am aware of that issue on these particular bikes.

I don't know how values for dynas etc. are arrived at,but apparently my 2011 FXDF in mint condition is worth about $6,500.

Probably not a problem at that mileage, especially if he used synthetic oil, but a negotiating point, nonetheless.

Id pay that for something more like an FXDX. Not that. Especially if we can't confirm the nuclear cam chain has been defused.

local to me, 2003 with the anniversary paint, and confirmed to have the cam taken care of. 37k miles. $4400

I’d say 4500 if you like the bike. 6,000 if you love the bike and wouldn’t change a thing and this is a dream bike. For me much better options out there for that money. I agree with@Crocodile Tearsthats fxdx money maybe even fxdxt.

as to the question of what the letters mean. Fxd is a basic dyna ala Superglide fxdi injection model, fxdi is a low rider and I think the wide glide is fxdwg. Fxdx is a Superglide sport and fxdxt is the Tsport which had fairing and bags with dual disc and adjustable suspension with fox rear shocks and cartridge forks.

Now THAT'S a good buy.

The front tire being dirty isn't what gets me.

The rest of the bike is clean. The front tire was dug out of a swamp. If it was all clean or all swampy I could do it, but not this!


Also seems priced a bit high, but I also assume CA prices are always higher. Might be wrong there, though.

I agree with others, too much for that bike.
