Hi It really depends on how you plan to ride and what your camp goals are. 你要去超轻和紧凑的风格还是you want trade weight and volume for greater tent room and comfort ? Once you make that decision and how much you want to spend ... then the the models that best fit your needs will come into focus. Scott
I am sure there are others, but check out Schmokel's fairly recent thread on the subject: https://advrider.com/f/threads/whats-the-go-to-two-person-tent-these-days.1386976/
Yeah you really didn't give very much information on the travels. There's a bunch of scenarios depending on the tent or camping market.
I've been really happy with Big Agnes tents, but the MSR Hubba Hubba would be hard to beat for versatility. It's a freestanding tent also.
I just picked up a Featherstone 2-person tent on Amazon. It's basically a copy of the Hubba Hubba for $100. Comes with a footprint and is super easy to set up. You can also set the fly up without the inner tent. That comes in handy when it's raining. You can also take the inner tent down and pack it away to keep somewhat dry if it's raining. I've only had time to set it up once but the quality looks to be very good.
another 2 cents for Big Agnes tents. Mine is a Blacktail 2, not their lightest, but for Bikepacking, 4WD trips, or Backpacking has been great. Their cust service has been way above average also. Have their Sleep System also (Farwell 0 degree, mattress) Not as warm as advertised, but super comfortable for a side sleeper with a bad hip. Have about 50-60 nights in this tent/bag/matt, would buy them again Found the tent on sale for under $200 with footprint. be sure to get a incl footpirint. Pitches without tent body. I use a Big Agnes rattlesnake 1 person, Feels roomy, can get your gear either inside or under the rainfly and it packs small. I love this tent. You can still find them, but the Manzera's are the newer version.
+1 on the Hubba, I wore out my Kelty Gunneson (also a great tent) and replaced it with a Hubba Hubba. It's lighter packs smaller and the more vertical sidewalls and peaked overhang at the entry really are improvements in usability. That said I have yet to have the MSR in severe weather so cannot compare that to the Kelty which was bombproof when it needed to be.
I have been using a Redverz Atacama for a few years and really enjoy the room. I can pretty much stand up in the vestibule and it is great to use when the weather is crappy. It is expensive and heavy, but hey, that is not an issue with HP. My avatar is fully loaded for Alaska adventures.
I'd love a two man tent which is free-standing, 100in long and able to accommodate a Helinox cot. The tent can be narrow to save space but length is a must - I'm 6'4" and hate having the sloping end walls on my head and feet. I've been using a Marmot Limelight 3P tent for the last 7 years. It's a little bulky to pack and has a large footprint, but @ 96" long it works well. It's also impervious to adverse weather and has been a workhorse. I wish the poles were a little shorter so they could fit in my panniers (which is really the biggest gripe) but still a slimmer, longer tent would be ideal. As of now the Helinox cot barely fits in the tent.
I have others, but my favorite is the Nemo Kunai. It packs really small, it’s light, and 3-4 seasons. Pictured with a size 11 shoe.
I have the Hike n Byke Zion 2 person tent. Have used it on three long trips of 2 weeks or more. It is easy to put up, has two vestibules and enough room inside for all my gear and me. I like the two vestibules as don't have to worry about which way I set it up. I can leave my boots and sidecars outside at night. With all the putting up and taking down I have had zero problems with it! All the screening is perfect. I have a BMW F800GT which is a midsized sport touring bike and have two 33 liter side cases and a large duffle bag on the back so small and light is important. It has been in wind and rain and no leaks, bright sunshine does go thru the top and will heat up the interior. I usually put something like a towel on top to shade it and leave the vestibules open.
I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I like my North Face Stormbreak 2. Picked it up as a replacement to my old BA tent that finally died on a trip a few years back. Super easy to set up, two vestibules, and plenty of space for me and all my crap, including a cot and table! I think they run around $150 and pack relatively small.
BUDGET really dont care as looking for whats best , i really dont know, this will be first year of taking some trips, so new to the camping and riding thing, so any help is appreciated on things to take
If the rolled up size of the tent is not an issue, take a look at the Eureka Midori 2. it a solid 3 season tent @ about $165. if you need something lighter look at the Big Agnes Copper Spur 2 HV. weights less, and rolls up small. If you need more vestibule room for lots of gear, take a look at the MSR tour 2. All three of these will do you just fine for years.
