I'm in the market for some soft luggage that will work with my existing Givi racks, on a Tiger 800, and came across these Tusk Pilot Pannier bags for $149.99 (waterproof liners included) atRocky Mountain ATV. These must be fairly new as there is one youtube video of them, and Tusk is working on a higher end version called the Olympus, to be released soon. These look like they'll work for a trip here and there during the year, of course, now it's almost you'll be the beta tester on these things, and answer all the questions, durability, ease of use, adaptability, etc. If anyone knows anything that might help us all, please share. These might be too good to be true, I'd love to buy some Mosko bags or Wolfman bags, but a fraction of what those cost, could these be real?:D

Making a decent bag doesn't seem like rocket science. They sure look strappy and sturdy. You could order them and if there's obvious issues, return them. and you could write a mini review because inquiring minds want to know.

I hear you loud and clear, and I'm leaning toward the purchase, and being a beta tester. They seem impressive for the money, maybe a leap into the unknown is required.:D

Well they managed to put out a decent hard pannier for a low price so maybe they can be successful with the soft too?

    的价格,或许值得一试。

I wonder if those bags will work with the Tusk quick release mounts.... they look better than the medium hard bags, to be honest.

    Also, they're $139.99 now!

From my limited knowledge, as long as you had Tusk racks you could install thiskit, and have quick release...think that's correct. I've got Givi racks and don't have that pull operated spring feature for quick release.

Yeah I know about that kit. I was hoping the Tusk bags came with an internal backing plate so I’d only have to add the $50 quick release bracket and not the whole soft bag mounting platform.

As far as I can tell by reading the question on RMATV they have stiffeners inboard and outboard on each bag. @ $139 it's a no brainer to try these out. I have a reckless 80 but I don't like the way it lays over Bumont rack, I'm hoping these strap on to the racks nicely, if not I'll sell them for what I paid after the price goes back up.

To me they look more like the Wolfman Rocky Mountain bags, but they do resemble the Mosko BC35.

他们肯定看起来值得一试,但在说话with Rocky Mountain today, it seems these only mount on their rack and they only make their rack for a few bikes. Has anyone mounted them on another manufacturer's rack?

This video shows them on a Givi rack. It looks like they will strap to any rack.

I watched the same and I believe I asked that guy the same question about mounting these. I think they will work, just have to get precise with straps I guess. We’ll see.

Since Wolfman became a Rocky Mountain ATV exclusive brand, these bags are essentially a copy of Wolfman's Rocky Mountain saddle bags. Check out Wolfman's dedicated thread, this was discussed.

The Olympus bag I believe is coming with a hard backing plate that will quick release to their pannier rack. It’s an upgraded and maybe larger, more compartment version of this bag. They wouldn’t tell me when they are releasing them but they gave me an initial price point for the whole system. Olympus bag, with the hard quick release backing and their pannier rack and The entire package came in well below the cost of bags alone from the competition.

Here is the video I first saw them

Just check out the thread on the rack from last week in the 1x90 section. It looks like someone had trouble mounting it per the instructions, but it might be he had the rear cross member bar upside down so it wasn’t clearing the under side of the plastic under the tail section. I think that if he flipped it 180 it worked, but he said he installed it per instructions. Still. The bags look legit and the rack, even if the guy is right can be made to work right. I’m tempted to get them with the rack and try slimming the rack down to make everything more narrow. Need a welder though.

Just to note, the guy who made that video is on here. He updated that video because he installed the bags wrong using the completely wrong straps that were ment to secure the top of the bags and things piled on top. He has a second video correcting himself. The correct straps look better and secure the bags better
