I've been riding 2-up with my girlfriend on a TW200 (forest roads) for the last 4 years or so. Not real comfortable but we're both pretty small (our combined weight is about 275 lbs) and we stop often.I was curious how much I was paying for insurance to have 2 bikes that are really much alike. Insurance company tells me that between auto and umbrella insurance it's costing about 200.00 a year for the TW200. I like both bikes but the XT has 6 speeds and better suspension so I think I'd prefer to keep it and sell the TW. But the one thing that has me hesitating is that I've read the rear wheel on the XT225 has had issues in the past. Am I likely to have problems with the XT with that kind of weight? (I've been using it solo since I bought it last year and only riding double on the TW200). Thanks,
I If it’s on the street it would be fine probably and if it is dirt riding you need a different bike.I took my son on the back of mine once for a short street ride and sold the rear pegs soon after. I’m over 200 and my son is about 165.

A popular upgrade for the XT225 is to replace the aluminum wheels with steel wheels from a TTR225. For 2 people, I would suggest you consider the XT250 or TTR250. I owned a pair of TTR225's and then a TTR250, and it's a huge difference.我TTR250也是街头法律as that's pretty easy to convert and license in Nevada, Washington, and several other states, but not so much in Oregon.It was a great bike!
I owned a V-Strom 650 for a while and it's a great road bike. But it's definitely not an off-road bike. Way too heavy and especially to top-heavy.
No it's not offroad bike at all, but it does amazing on forrest roads which is what you had said you did in your original post. If you are doing actual offroad then for sure don't get a Vstrom haha. Does she have any interest in riding? I got my wife a TTR125 and we'd go riding trails together. We found a nice hotel that was right on an old railway trail and we'd ride all day then go back to the hotel, it made for amazing weekends away together. She originally had no interest in riding but when I explained it as something we would enjoy together she became interested.
I wish she did. She prefers ride on the back instead of riding her own bike.We sometimes take the (non-rally raid) CB500 over gravel roads. It's better 2-up, but with the high pressure tubeless tires you can feel every pebble on the road. The trusty Yamaha 225 - here starting from Bali, finished 2,000 km later in East Timor. And you have got off-road suspension. Luxury!
we rode our FZ150 two up all over asia but the xt225 i had was nice in suspension but a dog for the road. our fz had protaper bars, n thai modded seat($15) to my spec. the bike we later sold n I modde the seat again for the buyers that were abit shorter than my 6-3.
