I wasn't happy when the spam started being displayed when logged in, and was mulling over becoming a 'paying customer.' I have contributed thousands of posts on this forum over many years. I recently also shared some thoughts on one of the front-panel postings and got a message that it had to be reviewed and approved. Well nothing happened so it was time wasted. Maybe they didn't like what I said, but at least a reason would have been nice. Hmm. I justjgot notice the The Beauty & Intensity of Night Riding post has been moved somewhere else. The offense was selling. I have yet to surpass my costs, but did share the journey openly - freely admitting when I screwed up, for example. So I ask my fellow inmates, what are the reasons I should become a paying supporter of this forum? Why should I stick around? If this post disappears you'll know I've been executed
The Beauty & Intensity of Night Riding was moved to the Vendors thread. Please don't bail on the forum. A lot of us new guys rely on your insight and assistance.
I view ADVRider via Tapatalk, which I pay for, so there are no ads. I plan to pay for ADVRider subscription because I appreciate all the information I get from the group at large. I have benefitted a great deal from the trials and bike specific threads. To me it's worth the cost.
I like it here, the best Trials forum in the world. I appreciate your contributions. Every once in a while I look at the rest of the forum, except for the Vans thread in Shiny Things, it's a sh!t show out there. I'm always glad to come back here. I decided, that since it's business and I like the product.... I'll buy it.
I spent 3 nights in a hotel last week and one or two this week That’s normal for me It’s to cold to fish and I don’t drink. Not much to do . I really appreciate Adv and all you guys. Motobene you have said some very inspirational and meaningful things I hope you hang in here.
I appreciate your comments! A great thing about the Trials section, aside from all you fine folk, is it is a rationally divided up. Thumpers, forfexample, is way too broad. There is a gaggle of silly and also these over broad where if you drop in a crumb and come back next day it'll be like 27 pages ago. 晚上骑线,和我一样全面t was, is for all practical purposes just gone. Who go to a vendor section for night riding? That was just pedantic, and there was no need to do that. A burr under the saddle, that move was. I've spent a ton of hours here because I wanted to. Hindsight is pretty smart, however, and I'm thinking I should have spent gobs of those hours building a YouTube channel instead. Many things are just easier to convey in video. I've just bought my first GoPro, a Hero 5 Black, so I've finally started in in earnest.
+1 on the youtube channel. I don't think a forum like this is really what you're looking for if the goal is more knowledge dumps, rather than banter. You can still hang out here (it's good for killing time over the winter) but I'd find another venue for your more interesting projects.
Please don't leave. A youtube channel would be good though as well :) I haven't subscribed yet but I might give it some more thought as I probably take more than I give to the forum..
Funny this is the most unlikely site for just about the best trials forum around.@motobeneContributions are appreciated.
i believe that the mod's try, but there is soo much out there that they have to filter through. keep in mind that they are human even though sometimes their level of fucktardation can leave you wondering.
I usually get asked to leave forums. Well, not really asked, I go to log in and find out all my shit has been thrown out in the front lawn. Very similar to other relationships I've had...
I did not read the lighting topic. Recently, another website I visit has made some changes. I have had a phone conversation with the website administrator about various “stuff”. Like it or not, Facebook is having an impact on many websites. As most people know, websites are not free, at least not worthy ones, meaning the hosts and website software cost money. Most sites now are frowning on the idea if a person is promoting something to gain revenue, the website wants thier fare amount. Not sure what transpired, but apparently getting it moved to a vendor section is a hint of what they believe is a bussiness promoting a product. As for stay or leave, even with thousands of helpful posts, most website hosts are kind of cold and focused like a big corporate business. Everyone is merely a number. I for one have enjoyed your topics, posts and replies. How much you value the others here vs being offended by the website management is a decision for you. We may not like it, but must understand.
After 5,400 posts I think you would really miss us... I know we would miss you, I for one am always eager to read your posts as a very credible source on a number of trials topics. I don't know the exact rules on selling stuff seems a bit grey to me, the lighting topic was more of an R&D topic than a sales topic and went on for a long time without issue so not sure what tipped that scale. I also think the rules around appropriate content are a bit grey and still don't agree with getting a week long suspension for posting a picture from a enduro checkpoint... but I really missed to forum during my suspension so tend to error more on the side of no T&A going forward. Hope you decide to stay - Cheers!
